I did not realize that word was attached to a specific race, I sort of thought it was a dig at "the not too bright" or a funny way to make light fun of people. Maybe even poke fun at a loved one.
This caused hysterical laughter in the Database Team. Hysterical in that our dev team is fracturing our central db into stand alone db's with the aim that everything will magically be integrated using SOA/WS.
Now call me old fashioned but most companies try to centralise db services - our company is going the other way.

Sounds a lot like something, but the terms were different - CORBA (instead of SOA), IDL (instead of WSDL) - but, sounds like a song I've heard time and again...

SOA, in Dutch, stands for "Seksueel Overdraagbare Aandoening", which translates to "Sexually Transmitted Disease".
